At HR Alternatives we have worked with hundreds of employees since 1993, but
our experience runs much deeper than that. Our team has been involved with almost
every HR setting you can imagine. From being in key HR positions of Fortune 500
corporations to running the HR operations in small and mid-size businesses to
serving as board members of prestigious HR organizations… we know Human
Resources.
Our Consultants have achieved the highest level of professional certification
in the Human Resources field: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
In addition, each Consultant possesses at least fifteen years management experience
in Human Resources focusing on a wide range of human resource problems and
issues, including organization planning & development, training, employee
relations, regulatory compliance, staffing, compensation, benefits and affirmative
action plan development

Philip Barquer, SPHR
Philip Barquer, SPHR is President of HR Alternatives. He has held key HR management
positions and directed the HR function for corporate and field operations for
companies in technology, healthcare and manufacturing industries. As a founder
of HR Alternatives, Inc., he has provided expert advice to hundreds of companies
on employee relations, compensation, benefits, management development and best
practices for the human resource infrastructure.
Philip holds two undergraduate degrees: Psychology and Communications from
California State University, Northridge. He received his Professional Industrial Relations
designation from the University of California, Los Angeles.
He is a past member of the National Board of Directors for the Society for Human
Resource Management and served on the Consultant Forum Board of Directors.
He is a Past President for the Professionals in Human Resources Association.

Steve Keyzers, SPHR, has over 25 years of diverse human resources management experience in corporate, field, and multi-state operations for mid size to Fortune 500 companies. His hands-on experience in Employee Relations, Compensation, Employment and Training have been utilized by companies in the manufacturing, technology, health sciences and aerospace industries.
He received a Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Chapman University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from California State University, Fullerton. He is also a certified instructor for several organizational leadership programs and is trained and certified in behavioral profiling analysis. Additionally, Steve teaches Human Resource classes at the University of California, Irvine.
Steve has served in many Leadership roles for distinguished Human Resource organizations such as The Southern California Manufacturing Compensation Group, Orange County Employment Management Association and the Pacific Coast Manufacturers Association. He has also served on advisory boards at local Community Colleges, School Districts, Regional Occupational Programs, and Economic Development Boards. |

Anita Nygaard, SPHR-CA has over 20 years of diverse human resource management and consulting experience in corporate, field, multi-state and global operations for mid-size to Fortune 100 global organizations across industries including banking, telecom and high-tech. She has also provided expert advice to companies in areas including Employee Relations, Organization Development, Benefits, Compensation, Workers' Compensation and Employee Recognition.
Anita received a Master's degree in Human Resources and Organization Development from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. She completed training with the Coaches Training Institute and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
Anita is currently a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Professionals In Human Resources Association and the Orange County Employment Management Association. |

Steven P. King, SPHR SR Consultant |
Steve King, SPHR has over 30 years of HR Management experience, Steve has proven credentials in the manufacturing, technology and transportation sectors. His hands-on experience spans start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises.
Steve holds a Master of Science degree in Management Science and a Bachelor of Science in Business, both from Oregon State University.
Steve has served in leadership roles with the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Compensation Association, the Western Pension Conference, and the Labor Relations Committee of the US Chamber of Commerce. |

| Nancy Mellinger, SPHR, has over 30 years of experience as both
a practitioner and Consultant. Her experience includes design and implementation
of human resource programs for organizations in high technology and manufacturing.
Nancy is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, and
the Professionals in Human Resources Association. She is past President
of Professionals in Human Resources Association and served on the Society for Human Resource Area Board as Director of
Leadership Development.
She received a Master’s degree in Organizational Development from
the University of Phoenix, and a BA in Business Administration with an
emphasis in Human Resources from California State University, Fullerton.
Nancy is a certified instructor for organization leadership training
programs. She has also instructed in the Human Resource Program at California
State University, Fullerton, the University of California, Irvine,
and Chapman University.
